ddHiFi is a renowned audio brand recognized for its unique and rare audio adapters, portable USB DAC dongles, a variety of cables, and other accessories. Each of their products boasts a premium aesthetic and is crafted to the highest standards, utilizing only top-quality materials. ddHiFi practically makes an adapter for every audio application you can think of. If it is not made by ddHiFi, it does not exist.
ddHiFi DJ44MOJO
A recently launched product is the ddHiFi DJ44MOJO, an audio adapter designed specifically for the Chord Mojo 2, although it is also compatible with the original Mojo model. Users of this portable, battery-operated DAC/amp will know that it features two single-ended 3.5mm headphone outputs that are simultaneously active. For those using earphones or headphones equipped with a 4.4mm plug, a 3.5mm male to 4.4mm female adapter is required. While this option is functional, it may not be the most convenient or aesthetically pleasing solution.
The ddHiFi DJ44MOJO is an innovative adapter that merges the two 3.5mm outputs into a single 4.4mm one while utilizing the expansion of the grounding area to improve the shielding effect.
While this is not the first adapter of its kind, PW Audio previously produced a similar product; however, it was criticized for its aesthetics, was priced quite high, and had limited availability. Garage Box also makes a very beautiful and well made adapter that matches with the appearance of the Mojo but priced at $199, it is almost four times more expensive than the DJ44MOJO.
Design and handling
The ddHiFi DJ44MOJO features an external design that aligns with the aesthetic of the Mojo, presenting a well matching appearance. In fact, the DJ44MOJO bears a strong resemblance to the Chord Poly streamer, which connects to the opposite side of the Mojo, yet it is significantly more compact and lightweight. With dimensions of 62×22×21.6mm and a weight of just 48g, this adapter adds minimal bulk and weight to the Mojo.
The adapter is constructed from durable CNC-machined aluminum alloy and features a concealed bottom cover with a screw-less design. The plugs are designed in a straight configuration, matching the height of the 4.4mm headphone socket, which enhances its visual appeal. The internal wiring incorporates the standard ddHiFi OCC cable, soldered with silver-infused solder to guarantee lossless audio signal transmission.
The DJ44MOJO fits seamlessly, leaving no visible gaps between the adapter and the Mojo’s main body. The connection is secure, ensuring that the adapter remains stable and does not feel loose, while its robust design can endure some accidental bending. Additionally, the DJ44MOJO is compatible with the original leather case of the Mojo 2, with no fitting issues.
Listening impressions
The ddHiFi DJ44MOJO is a plain adapter, nothing more, and does not magically enhance the audio capabilities of the Mojo 2, despite any misleading claims you may encounter in various audio forums. The ddHiFi DJ44MOJO will not add a really balanced output to the Mojo, nor double the output voltage.
Conversely, the DJ44MOJO maintains absolute sonic transparency, ensuring that the audio quality of the Mojo 2 remains unchanged. Whether the adapter is used or not, the sound performance of the Mojo 2 is identical. It neither adds nor subtracts from the audio experience; the DJ44MOJO is a premium adapter that preserves sound integrity.

The ddHiFi DJ44MOJO is a meticulously crafted adapter with the highest standards that seamlessly complements the aesthetic of the Mojo 2. It effectively transforms the two 3.5mm sockets into a single 4.4mm socket. This adapter is both lightweight and compact, ensuring portability except of premium aesthetics while maintaining absolute sonic transparency, thereby preserving the original sound quality of the Mojo 2. For just $52.99 this is by far the best looking and well made audio adapter that you can buy to add 4.4mm connectivity to the Chord Mojo.
