Today’s review is about the NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition, a hybrid in-ear monitor with 1DD + 6BA + 1PZT drivers per side. The NX8Ti is an advanced version of the NICEHCK NX8 and its production is limited to 3,888 sets.

NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition
The NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition is a hybrid in-ear monitor with 8 drivers per side and a four-way crossover. It builds on the NX series’ legacy, while upgrading and optimizing its driver configuration.
Technical Overview
The NX8Ti is equipped with one dynamic driver, six balanced armature drivers, and one piezoelectric ceramic driver, combined together with the aid of four-way crossover.
This allows each type of driver to handle its optimal frequency range efficiently, working in harmony to deliver a seamless full-range sound performance. The crossover is implemented in a self-developed circuit board, using high-quality Rubycon PML film capacitors.
The titanium-alloy dynamic driver acts as the primary sound driver while also handling partial vocal reproduction. Two custom-tuned balanced armature drivers enhance the detail in the mid to high frequencies, and four newly designed balanced armature drivers provide a flatter frequency response and significantly expanded bandwidth. The piezoelectric ceramic driver further extends the ultra-high frequency range, adding greater clarity and sonic refinement.
The newly upgraded 6N single-crystal silver internal wiring minimizes signal loss between the mid-low dynamic driver and mid-range balanced armature drivers.
Interchangeable Acoustic Nozzle Design
The NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition features an interchangeable nozzle fine-tuning system. The titanium alloy nozzles enhance mid-low frequency density, increase transient speed, and provide full high-frequency extension. The gold-plated copper nozzles bring vocals forward and smooth out the higher frequencies. Both nozzle types also protect the earphones from earwax and are easy to swap thanks to their screw-on design.
How Does It Differ from the NX8?
NICEHCK claims that the NX8Ti delivers a larger soundstage, enhanced dynamics, improved resolution and separation, more treble energy, and more balanced vocal positioning.
When it comes to their physical differences the NX8Ti features newly designed titanium alloy faceplates with elegant wavy patterns and laser-etched logos. The ear shells are slightly less bulky than the NX8 but they weigh about 0.5gr more.
The NX8Ti Limited Edition is additionally equipped with a brand new cable and many more accessories.
Stock Cable
The brand-new cable is made from 7N single-crystal copper in a four-strand braided design. It is equipped with 2-pin connectors and a 4.4mm or 3.5mm gold-plated plug. It is a high-quality cable with titanium-alloy metallic parts and an outer PVC insulation that is extremely durable.
However, the cable is too thick and heavy, it constantly pulls the earphones downwards, and it doesn’t fit well around the ear. It doesn’t produce much microphonic noise, but it is stiff and doesn’t bend easily. Additionally, at this price point, a cable with interchangeable plugs would be a much better choice. The outer appearance is also a little outdated, and the cable looks a lot like old telephone cables from the ’80s.
Accessories
NICEHCK spared no expense and equipped the NX8Ti Limited Edition with a high-quality carrying case covered with synthetic leather, along with a rich selection of various eartips.
There are five different types of eartips, each available in three sizes, with two pairs per size. Each set comes stored in a separate plastic case.
The package also includes the interchangeable nozzles, two pairs of replacement filters, two pairs of pin protectors, a cleaning brush, and the documentation.
Simply put, one of the best-equipped earphones regardless of price. What I also like is that your money is well invested in useful accessories rather than fancy badges or childish stickers.
Design and Wearing Experience
The ear shells of the Limited Edition feature specially designed titanium-alloy faceplates with laser-engraved radial wave patterns inspired by the diffusion curves of physical sound waves. The NICEHCK and NX8Ti logos are also engraved at the center of each shell, respectively, in contrasting gold lettering. The main housings are made from 3D-printed resin material that follows the natural contours of the ear.
The NX8Ti Limited Edition not only looks stunning and is exceptionally well made, but is also really comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The low-profile shells are lightweight and not too bulky, fit really well without protruding from the ears, and offer good passive noise attenuation when fitted with the right-size eartips.
Power Requirements
At 18Ω impedance and 112.3dB/mW sensitivity, the NX8Ti is exceptionally easy to drive and mildly sensitive to source noise. It doesn’t need an amplifier or especially powerful source, even a USB DAC dongle, such as the NICEHCK Octave, can drive it to its full potential. Just make sure that the source doesn’t produce much hissing noise.
Listening Impressions
(all impressions described below are with the silver nozzle)
The first thing you notice after spending a few minutes with the NICEHCK NX8Ti is its class-leading sub-bass extension and the healthy amount of boost, which is just enough to tackle the lowest octave with power and poise without overpowering the rest of the mix.
The NX8Ti produces an impressively powerful and authoritative low-end, but I wouldn’t call it a bass-head earphone. The tuning is ideal for electronic music while also allowing it to effortlessly reproduce the deepest notes of the pipe organ or double bass without rolling off.
The aforementioned emphasis mildly extends into the lower bass, adding presence and weight but also compromising a little on tonal precision. Critical listeners will notice some extra intensity in the lower register of instruments such as the cello and bassoon, along with a touch of additional prominence to the double bass and the lowest octave of the piano.
However, it remains mostly controlled, and most listeners will find the NX8Ti very enjoyable with classical music, even if it isn’t absolutely accurate. Moving higher up, the bass becomes even more neutral and tonally correct, with no signs of bleeding into the mid-range.
From a technical point of view, the bass is surprisingly visceral and weighty while remaining fast, tight, and controlled. The NX8Ti is a very capable earphone that doesn’t lose its pace or layering, nor does it become bloated or undefined with more difficult and complex music.
The dynamic driver hits hard and recovers quickly enough, with only a touch of reverb audible in a few instances. Choosing the right eartips is essential for achieving the tonal balance that best suits your preferences. Some will further emphasize the low-end, while others, such as the blue ones, will cut a few dB.
More Listening Impressions
The midrange sounds balanced and present, almost neutral, with equal amounts of lower- and upper-midrange presence. This means that all instruments and voices receive the same kind of attention and are reproduced with good tonal precision and a rather natural timbre. The upper midrange is not very pronounced and remains controlled and fatigue-free without lacking clarity or resolution.
The NX8Ti is not a warm sounding earphone, but it also steers clear of cold sterility. Actually, I find it very enjoyable with all kinds of music, whether instrumental or vocal, it doesn’t really matter, as everything sounds particularly engaging. The textures are defined with excellent clarity and refinement, while they remain full-bodied and weighty enough, following suit from the low-end.
The treble is the part that really shines for being extended, exciting, highly resolving, crystal clear and fast-paced, yet very controlled without introducing much brightness or sharpness.
The timbre is free from metallic artificiality, and high-pitched instruments sound natural and realistic without becoming thinner as the frequency rises. It seems that adding the PZT driver was a smart move that helped considerably to enhance the qualitative characteristics of the upper frequencies.
The soundstage doesn’t really lack anything, but it doesn’t particularly excel in any specific area either. It is wide and spacious enough to avoid sounding congested, even with large-scale music, while imaging is quite satisfying. There isn’t much depth or holographic character, though. Still, I would rate it as good and certainly not disappointing for the category.
The Gold Tuning Nozzles
The gold tuning nozzles don’t alter the overall sonic identity of the NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition, but they offer an interesting tuning variation that should appeal to many users.
Use these nozzles when you want to add a couple of dB of extra prominence to the midrange and upper mids without reducing the bass or making the treble too spicy. They work well for those who prefer this kind of tuning and are a welcome addition that gives the NX8Ti greater versatility.
In the End
The NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition is an earphone that does most things right and establishes itself as a strong contender in the mid-range category.
It has a balanced tuning that makes it suitable for most kinds of music while really excelling at both ends of the frequency range. It is also well made, beautiful looking and especially comfortable, while the generous accessory set adds extra value to the package.
At $399, the NICEHCK NX8Ti Limited Edition is a solid option worth considering if you are after a high quality mid-priced earphone that will keep you satisfied throughout your entire playlist, no matter how diverse it is.
