Today’s review is about the Lavricables Master V5 cable, which is available for a wide range of audio applications. The Master V5 lineup includes headphone, earphone, interconnect, speaker, USB, and power cables, all built to order and handmade in various lengths and with an extensive selection of termination options.
The Lavricables Master V5 cable was kindly provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t receive monetary or any other kind of compensation and I don’t use affiliate links.

Lavricables
Lavricables is a boutique cable manufacturer from Latvia that was initially founded out of a passion for the audio hobby and not as a business. However, they have eventually expanded into a full time occupation thanks to the great demand for the cables.
Lavricables cables are mostly made with high purity silver, known for its superior conductivity, utilizing advanced cable geometries and braiding techniques for the best possible sound and manufacturing quality.
The Cable Lineup
The Lavricables are offered in four distinct product tiers:
The entry-level Reference series offers the best value for money, followed by the Ultimate series, which features a more advanced conductor geometry. Next comes the Master series, which adds a small amount of copper into the mix, while the flagship Grand series employs higher-purity 6N silver enhanced with graphene and significantly larger conductor gauges.
Although Ichos Reviews has no formal affiliation with Lavricables, extensive testing and evaluation of the company’s products over the years have led us to select several of their cables as our reference points.

Lavricables Master V5 Cable
Lavricables is a company that never rests on its laurels. Instead, it continuously researches and experiments with new materials and design techniques in order produce make better cables. Since its original introduction, the Master series has proven its worth and evolved over time, eventually reaching its fifth generation.
In comparison to the cable’s 4th and 3rd generations (that we have previously reviewed here) the V5 utilizes a more advanced geometry and an increased overall gauge. Lavricables has introduced bigger cores of silver and added more copper alloy to the mix.
That said, you cannot call the Master V5 a hybrid cable as the amount of copper alloy is still rather small compared to the amount of silver.
Design and Configuration Options
For this review, Lavricables supplied a headphone cable terminated with dual 3.5mm rhodium-plated connectors on the headphone side and a balanced 4.4mm rhodium-plated plug on the source end.
The 3.5mm connectors are of a slim profile and diameter, allowing them to fit virtually any headphone with dual 3.5mm sockets, including models with recessed inputs. You can order the cable in various lengths and choose between a great selection of plugs and connectors – all earphone plugs also included.
The Master V5 headphone cable is made using a 4-core Litz braided structure with a transparent outer sheathing and an optional silk sleeving in black color. You can order it with the Lavricables carbon splitter or a plain heatshrink to save some money. Lavricables also offers 100 or 150 hours of burn-in services at an additional cost.
Handling Experience
The review sample came with the fabric outer sleeving that extends from the source plug till the splitter of the cable. Personally speaking, I much prefer the appearance of the plain cable without the sleeve but the truth is that is useful because it adds extra durability and lowers friction noise.
The Lavricables Master V5 is an exceptionally well made and aesthetically pleasing cable, that is slim, lightweight, soft and easy to handle, yet it is durable and doesn’t develop a yellowish tint over time. The cable doesn’t get tangled and has an exceptionally low friction noise, making it ideal for earphone use.

The Usual Cable Disclaimer
Cable evaluations are among the most debated areas of audio reviewing, largely because personal perception plays such a significant role. While one side of the community argues that cables cannot introduce audible or measurable changes, another believes that their influence can be clearly detected both by ear and through certain measurements.
My own position falls somewhere between these two viewpoints. I don’t dismiss the possibility of a cable producing audible differences but also don’t accept every claim without question. When reviewing a cable, I use my own systems under normal listening conditions rather than through controlled blind tests. In some cases, I perceive little to no differences, while in others the changes appear more noticeable, depending on the equipment involved and the cable being evaluated.
As such, the narrative presented here should be regarded as entirely subjective. It is not supported by blind testing, measurements or any form of scientific validation. Everything described reflects my personal experience and results may differ considerably depending on equipment synergy, listening habits, and individual approach to cables.

Listening Evaluation
I have been using the Lavricables Master V5 cable for more than two months continuously with various headphones, like the Meze Audio Poet, the Focal Clear Mg and the Hifiman HE1000 Stealth. A great variety of sources were also used, like the iBasso D17 and the HIFIMAN SERENADE.
All Lavricables cables are well known for their excellent transparency and the Master V5 doesn’t fail to impress in this regard. It is a cable with great honesty and fidelity that makes sure to carry out every last bit of musical information from the source directly to the headphones without adding a character of its own.
The sound is crystal clear and the cable helps a lot with the definition and the layering of the music, something that gets especially noticeable when listening to more demanding tracks, like technical metal or large scale symphonic works.
Many people believe that silver is going to make their gear sound analytical, unforgiving and bright but this is far from the truth, at least for a fully burned-in cable.
The Master V5 might be especially resolving and maybe a little unforgiving but it won’t make your system sound monitoring analytical or clinical. What it does is to enhance the flow of the music and let all the details surface up, but it also gets out of the way, letting the source and the headphones determine the actual “temperature” of the sound.
More Listening Impressions
It must also be emphasized that this particular cable does not behave like a passive equalizer that you can use to boost or reduce any part of the frequency range. Don’t buy the Master V5, hoping that you can do any kind of frequency manipulation, just use it for its class-leading transparency and its unique ability to highlight the qualities of the audio chain.
Given that you are using the right source and headphones, the Master V5 will let you enjoy bold, dynamic and impactful bass, expressive and organic mids, fast and technical treble that doesn’t get any additional brightness from the cable, as well as an open grand soundstage with surgical positioning.
As mentioned earlier, the Lavricables Master V5 cable is exceptionally transparent, so while it is not going to make the sound shrill or fatiguing, don’t expect it to do any favors to your chain either. It simply acts as a link between the source and the headphones, allowing them to sound exactly as you know them, without any intervention from the cable itself. Bright headphones will still sound bright and warm will remain warm, so don’t have any vain expectations to do any sonic changes with the aid of the cable.

Comparison with the Lavricables Master V3/V4 Cable
It is very difficult to do a direct comparison of the Master V5 with its previous generations because the cables I have were configured for different headphones. However after doing a lot of listening, I can dare to suggest that the V5 is slightly more open and resolving with broader dynamic impact, a touch more realistic-natural timbre, an extra hint of warmth and a grander soundstage, without lacking in transparency and fidelity.
In the End
The Lavricables Master V5 is a high quality and exceptionally well made cable that I would recommend as an upgrade cable for its attractive appearance, impressive durability, and excellent handling characteristics alone.
Moreover, there is a good chance that you will also appreciate the subtle but clearly audible – at least in my case – sonic refinements it brings to the table, helping to further enhance the overall performance of the audio chain.
