The Sivga Que was kindly provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t receive monetary or any other kind of compensation and I don’t use affiliate links. The price of the Sivga Que is $69.99 and you can buy it from Sivga’s Amazon and AliExpress stores.

Sivga Que

The Sivga Que represents the newest entry in the brand’s comprehensive lineup of headphones and earphones. This model is equipped with a single dynamic driver and is priced affordably. It comes with a 10mm dynamic driver featuring a beryllium-plated diaphragm and utilizes single-magnet dual-cavity technology. The front cavity is constructed from precision die-cast zinc alloy, ensuring durability and stability while significantly minimizing sound chamber resonance.

Design, comfort and build quality

Those acquainted with Sivga are well aware of the brand’s penchant for incorporating wood into their headphones and earphones. The Que model is no exception, as it features a wooden panel on the rear chamber of the ear-shells, despite its affordable price point. The design and appearance resemble that of the Sivga Nightingale.

This panel is crafted from North American white maple wood and showcases the Sivga logo elegantly engraved upon it. The overall design is stunning, striking a balance between elegance and a modern, youthful aesthetic, making it one of the most visually appealing earphones available. While the wooden panel serves primarily a decorative purpose, Sivga also asserts that it contributes to resonance absorption, resulting in a purer sound quality. The Que is exceptionally well made with attention to every last detail.

The 10g ear-shells of the Que feature a relatively narrow design accompanied by a slightly extended sound tube. The fit is shallow yet remains comfortable, secure, and stable due to the elongated nozzles. I found no comfort-related issues even after extended periods of use. While passive noise isolation is effective, it is not class leading.

High quality cable

Cable and accessories

The cable included with the Que exceeds expectations for its price point. It is a premium quality cable that resists tangling and minimizes microphonic noise. This 2-pin detachable cable is constructed from silver-plated, oxygen-free copper and features a high-quality 3.5mm aluminum plug. While it may be slightly bulkier and heavier than typical options, its exceptional craftsmanship and robust appearance make it stand from the crowd.

Additionally, the package comes with a premium carrying case crafted from brown synthetic leather, along with two sets of silicone ear tips available in three different sizes each.

Listening impressions

The Que has an impedance of 32Ω and a sensitivity of 108dB, making them relatively easy to drive. You can effectively use moderately powered USB DAC dongles, such as the Shanling UA1 Plus, to achieve optimal performance.

The Sivga Que features a tuning that appeals to a wide audience, emphasizing bass while maintaining moderately warm mids and a smooth, extended, and clear treble. Unlike typical bass-heavy earphones, the Que gives considerable focus to the mids and possesses enough treble presence to balance the enhanced low frequencies.

The bass response is deep and powerful, featuring significantly enhanced mid-bass. This earphone is not designed for reference or critical listening, making it less suitable for classical music or any genre that requires precise tonal fidelity. The Que caters to those who appreciate strong and impactful bass that creates an immersive atmosphere.

Its sound is bold and dynamic, encouraging listeners to enjoy their favorite tracks and lose themselves in the rhythm, without concern for the mild bleed into the mids or the relative lack of texture and layering. While the low-end performance of the Que may not excel in terms of definition and control, it remains sufficiently quick and tight for enjoyable casual listening.

The mid-range exhibits a pleasantly warm quality, characterized by clear articulation and notable presence, despite the mild bass interference. The timbre remains natural and lifelike, while the upper mid-range receives a slight boost, ensuring that both instruments and vocals are rendered with good tonal precision and resolution for the category. The Que has a melodious and captivating nature, featuring rich, vibrant harmonies, and textures that are sufficiently lush and substantial while maintaining a good degree of shape and definition.

More listening impressions

The treble is expansive, vibrant, and bright, effectively countering the powerful bass while infusing the sound with liveliness and preventing a muted or shadowy audio profile. The Que earphones exhibit a slight brightness without crossing into sibilance or harshness. They deliver clarity and definition that meet expectations, with detail retrieval that is enough to immerse you in the music. The timbre remains quite natural, free from any notable metallic artifacts, and the textures are adequately rich and weighty to render higher-pitched instruments with a realistic quality.

The soundstage offers an unexpectedly expansive and open quality, featuring respectable imaging; however, the overall presentation feels quite intimate, as if the music is occurring within the listener’s head, resulting in a deficiency in depth and layering. While a variety of music genres are well-represented, classical music and similar styles struggle to convey adequate ambient details and realistic dimensions.

The wide bore ear-tips can reduce the intensity of mid-bass frequencies, while simultaneously enhancing the brightness of the treble.

With the Nightingale

Vs the FiiO JD7

At this price range, there are so numerous alternatives to consider for making a comparison that is really vague to do one. Anyway, the FiiO JD7, priced at $99, features a single dynamic driver and serves as a viable alternative.

The JD7 has a fully metal construction rather than wooden faceplates, and its compact, rounded ear-shell design offers a slightly more comfortable fit compared to the Que. While the accessories included are satisfactory for the price, the Sivga Que provides a superior carrying case and a higher-quality cable, despite being less expensive. Opt for the FiiO JD7 if you prefer a sound profile that closely aligns with the Harman target curve, or choose the Sivga Que for a more bass-heavy listening experience.

In the end

The Sivga Que is an aesthetically pleasing and highly appealing earphone, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and a distinctive tuning that prominently highlights bass while maintaining clarity in the mids and treble.

Audiophiles who appreciate robust bass that complements rather than overwhelms other frequencies will find the Sivga Que to be an ideal choice for everyday use. This model serves as a refreshing option from Sivga, a brand known for its willingness to innovate and develop unique tuning concepts rather than adhering to conventional standards.
